"I just wanted to let you know how wonderful it is to read HeroicStories during the week. I am a college student, and it is so easy to pity myself -- all of the reading, the exams, and term papers... but your emails give me a wonderful reality check. Not only do I realize that there are people much less fortunate than I, but I see ordinary people, like myself, who go the extra mile to just do something nice for another human being. I really appreciate the chance to get your emails, and they constantly remind me to go that extra mile every day." --Heather, New York
"I was raised a Boy Scout, became an Eagle Scout, went on to college and have been part of the 'real world' for the last three years now. But after reading your stories, it dawned on me that I lost that Boy Scout spirit of 'Doing a good deed daily' somewhere along the way in the hustle and bustle of the daily grind. The stories you publish have helped me regain that spirit and start making conscious choices to move back down the path of helping others. "When 20-30 messages come in at once, HS always stands out and is the first thing I open. What a joy to know that the heroic human beings I knew as commonplace in my youth are still out there! Most of the people with whom I exchange email feel inundated and overwhelmed by forwards, hackneyed jokes, spam and just plain junk. Many of them tell me they need or want no more 'stuff' coming to their inboxes because it takes too much time to go through and separate the wheat from the chaff. We simply have to let more people know that all is not lost, that there are indeed good people of all ages who do the right thing for its own sake. It shouldn't take long to convince them that there's no chaff in HeroicStories. :-)" --Judith, Texas

"Once you get in the habit of reading these, it's difficult to stop. I'd rather have a world without heroes than have a world without HeroicStories. Well, okay, maybe that's a tad extreme, but you get my point: It's a dang freakin' good product." --Paul, Minnesota
"I just wanted to let you know what an insidious thing you're doing -- making me (and probably others!) better people. I love the series, and think that 'Gee, I'd like to be that nice/ helpful/etc. if I ever saw someone in trouble.' So far, I haven't, but, I now find myself smiling at strangers, offering directions or suggestions if I overhear someone asking for help at a gas station or store, and just trying to be a nicer person. I'm less afraid of what they can 'do to me', and more aware of what I can 'do for them'. The reason that it is insidious is that I am not consciously trying to do this, it just now seems the right way to be, without special effort. "Rarely in our busy world of appointments and necessary interchange of ideas does the opportunity arise to commend someone for unselfish behavior and accomplishment above and beyond the norm expected. Too often in today's media we read of tragedy, death, maiming and man's unrelinquished meanness to man. How very pleasurable it is to read of Man's kindness to Man.
